30 is the new 20... RIGHT?!?!?

Wow, I'm 30 years old. I'm having a hard time believing I'm that old. I love birthday's. I usually spend all month celebrating my birthday, and yes I mean month. If you don't believe me just ask Scott! I invited my parents up for the big day, not only for their great company but also so I could have a cake. It's weird Scott doesn't do that for me! I'm not big into cake but my Mom made a yummy blueberry cheesecake like pie. YUMMY!!!! I ate it all week, because it had fruit on it and heaven forbid Scott eat fruit! My Dad and Mom made me the best birthday dinner, fish! I know kind-of a weird request but I love it. Most people hate turning 30 but I have to admit I have rather enjoyed it. I guy I work with told me I was officially grown up and a real adult, and Dr. Lee said that 30 was the the new 20. I loved it! So Happy Birthday to me and to another great year ahead of me, here I come!

Wow that's a bad picture, look at the hair and that zit!

Climbing

It's taken Ryver 2 1/2 years to learn this trick. He had asked for a snack and I told him when I was done doing what I was doing I'd get him one. Well it was quiet for a little while, and this is what I found. He has never climbed up anything and has just started pushing chairs around to get what he wants. This is a new thing and I'm glad he's waited until now to start. We love ya Ryver! In the top picture, this is how he always responds to the camera. CHEESE! I tell him to open his eyes and his mouth pops open. Funny boy.

Do you all see all that candy on the counter? He by passed this to get who knows what. I guess he was tired of his potty treats!

What Can We Say?

Some days we wonder about Ryver. He did this all by himself. He loves to wear necklaces around. The headband thing usually happens a lot after Portia has come and gone. What are we going to do with this boy? The thing you can't see is he's holding a couple of cars. I guess we won't worry!

Heavenly Baby

I wasn't sure if I really wanted to write this post but since this is our family scrapbook I really need to share this. We finally got pregnant again after our first miscarriage last June. I was so excited and wanted to surprise Scott. I really wanted to go to the doctor first to see how far along I was, because once again I had no clue. Me and my messed up body! I learned my lesson not telling him last time until it was too late so he found out early this time. We've had a bottle of sparkling grape juice forever. I told him that when I got pregnant he would know because I would break out the bottle. I didn't want it to be that obvious so I wrapped it up and put a few things in the box. That was the longest day waiting for him to come home. The smile on his face shows how happy and excited he was. I'm sure he would tell you different, but when Scott smiles it says it all, at least it does to me.

I had an appointment for 2 weeks after we found out. Talk about the longest two weeks ever. I felt great except for the being so tired, staying up past 8:00 PM was a huge thing for me! The appointment went well. They did an ultrasound to measure the little bean to see how far along I was. I was only 6 weeks and 5 days at that point. Ugh, that's all? A lot of weeks left until the scary part is over. Things were good though they could count the heartbeats and that was a surprise for being so early. Of course I came and pulled out my books to start reading about everything and seeing where the development was.

All this time I just wanted to be excited and happy but deep down I couldn't believe I was really pregnant. I had a really hard time. I would talk about it and try and be positive and upbeat but I just was so scared I would miscarry again and didn't want to be too excited and attached. We told our parents and Portia because we had her for spring break. There were also 3 people at my work that knew, because I didn't want to do chest x-rays while I was pregnant. We knew we didn't want to tell many people before we were sure things were good.

I counted down the weeks until my next appointment. I had an appointment on Monday and I would be 10 weeks and 5 days. And then the dreaded spotting started on Thursday. Not bad but I knew deep down what was happening. It took until Saturday night to start bleeding more and cramping, and then it began. Scott stayed on the couch with me most of the night. The cramping was about every 5 minutes and painful. It ended about 5:00 AM. What an emotional night that was.

We are so thankful for the knowledge that we have of the Plan of Salvation. People may argue about when a fetus actually becomes a baby or whatever but I always had a baby growing inside me. Scott and I are both comforted to know that our baby is up in heaven with our other little boy and they will be waiting for us in heaven. We are still going to be able to raise these two angel babies. How lucky I am to have two babes in heaven safe from what this world is and becoming. I just hope that Scott and I can prove ourselves worthy to return to our Heavenly Father and raise our family when this earthly life is over.

We both have the greatest families' ever with the most support. I have to say that my sister Dawn has got to be the best sister ever. She came over and picked Ryver up for the whole entire day and took him to church and spent the day with him so Scott and I could sleep, cry, sleep, and just hold each other.

It's over and I'm almost healed, having a few issues but it'll all work out. Scott's excited to keep practicing! Our time will come to actually hold our babies up in heaven, and hoping we can get a healthy full term baby here sometime before I'm 40. Thanks to everybody for their love and support and especially our wonderful parents.

Easter Morning!

Easter morning started bright and early with Ryver waking us up. He was so excited and went straight for his eggs in the refrigerator. He had a come apart to find they weren't there. It didn't take him long to discover them scattered around the living room. He even had a bigger come apart when I made the eggs into deviled eggs for dinner!

The day was complete with staying in our pajama's, watching conference, and spending time with just our family. I am so thankful for our Saviour Jesus Christ who suffered and died for my sins and made it possible for me to be with my family forever.

Every time I tried to take a picture Ryver would say cheese and close his eyes, so I kept telling him to open his eyes. Apparently he couldn't keep his eye's open without having his mouth open the whole time.

Easter at Home!

We stayed home for Easter this year, which was really nice. Having family time has been so great this year. Even when we don't do anything special just being together is wonderful. Ryver waited all day to color his eggs. He even found an egg coloring set at the dollar store with cars on it. He was set!!! The whole coloring process took about 5 minutes. Seriously! He got in the bath while he was waiting for the eggs to dry. It took him longer to put the stickers on the eggs, then to dye them. I do believe he cracked just about every one of them because he just dropped them into the cups. An egg is an egg even if it's blue inside right.

After coloring the eggs we sat down on the couch and I showed him pictures of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane and Jesus on the cross and of when he had risen. Pretty sure he didn't listen, care, or even look at the pictures. I tried.

Chicken Pox?

The weekend we were at my parents house Ryver woke up Sunday morning and was scratching his head behind his ear. The way he scratched looked like a dog scratching fleas. I looked at his head fearing maybe he had lice or something. No crawling bugs but he had some red spots behind his ear. Didn't think a whole lot about it. We went to church, Ryver went to nursery, and we came home. I changed his diaper and there were more red dots. I wasn't terribly alarmed yet because he's always had sensitive skin and gets random spots and dots. The longer the day went on the bigger and worse these red spots got. By this time I'm starting to feel really bad about taking him to nursery. We are all thinking he had chicken pox. We drove home to Rigby and he started getting them around his hair line. I then start thinking that maybe it's an allergic reaction to his medicine he's been on for bronchitis and tonsillitis. No way he's been on it for almost 10 days. Put him to bed, and got up the next morning early and peeked at him and o my.....he had them all over his face. The spots looked like they were trying to blister but I just wasn't convinced they were chicken pox. I called the doctor's office and explained my situation. I know that there is nothing that can be done for chicken pox but if Ryver doesn't have them he needs help. He looked so terrible. They were all over his face and back, diaper area. He was scratching them and then were starting to bleed. I'd been giving him benadryl and rubbed the the anti-itch lotion on. And the verdict was.......allergic reaction to the Augmentin. They gave him steroids to take which was liquid and he was not impressed. But after only 2 doses and benadryl treatment he was cured. So thankful for moderation medicine, I think. One medicine gave him the problem but the other cured him. Always pro's and con's. As you can see the Cinderella sticker. That's the sticker he picked at the doctor's office. Then he plastered it on his wall, at eye level, with his pillow in bed. What am I going to do with this kid!
