Cub Scout Ready!

I am currently the wolf den leader in the Cub Scouts. YIKES! I bought a book and it looks like I have had it for years. Ryver has carried it all around and even slept with it under his pillow a lot. It's "his" book. We've already had to tape it together once. I guess these are all good signs he is going to love cub scouting.

RIgby Day's Parade

It was the annual Rigby day parade. The parade this year actually lasted almost an hour. Candy, chocolate milk, tooth brushes, and a lot of fliers were handed out. It wasn't the greatest weather but the kids didn't care because there was candy involved.


Ryver got easily coaxed into eating a War Head the sour candy. It took a few moments for it to really set in.

Teton Dam 5K

I ran in the Teton Dam 5K and loved it. The night before I went and drove the course. WOW!!! The first mile was uphill, 2nd mile was a few rolling hills, and the last mile was down hill, yikes. I felt like I did good, since I haven't trained or even thought about training for hills. It was fun and it felt really good to finish strong. My legs were jello more from the down hill then the uphill. I would rather run up than down a hill. I know that sounds crazy!

Scott almost didn't make it back from breakfast to see me finish.

My first medal since high school. Yes I know everybody got one for participating but it was still fun!

I posted the results for my age division. I was 26th out of 143 runners male and female. I was 10th in all the female runners.

Summer Rides

Aunt Dawn let Ryver borrow one of their old bikes. As you can tell he's leaning towards one side but boy is he having fun. The bike is a little big for him. He can't get on or off by himself, but he sure thinks he is cool. Portia is now a pro at it.

There is our "cheese" smile. Can't quite get the concept of keeping his eyes open while smiling and saying cheese

She Chopped it!

Portia finally got permission from her Mom to cut her hair. Audria (Portia's Mom) told me face to face she could cut it how ever she wanted. Once we got to our house I asked Portia how she wanted it cut and she said SHORT! I asked her how short and she put her hand up to her chin. This was totally her idea. She had wanted to cut enough off to help somebody else who didn't have any hair. Perfect choice. Once again this was all Portia's idea! I'm not so sure her Mom was excited. We emailed some pictures and she kept saying how short it was. Portia looks fantastic and so much more grown up with this new do. Not that we want her any more grown up!


Brandee did such a great job! Portia was so excited and did great. She wanted to donate her hair to Locks of Love. She had just enough hair to do so.

Jazz!

Ryver and I traveled to Portia's dance recital in La Grande. It was a fun time and awesome to watch Portia do something she loves to do. Ever since she was way little she loved to dance and sing. We would find her in the tub looking at herself in the shiny knobs singing. We still find her dancing in front of the TV screen where she can see her reflection. If you listen closely she sings and carries on quite the conversation in the shower. Great job Portia, you did great!

This was Ryver and I waiting for the show to start. Ryver did pretty good the first hour but got a little antsy the second hour.

Annual Yost Girl's Trip

This year for our girl's trip we decided to go to Mom and Dad's house. It was wonderful to spend all weekend there without kids to chase and husbands to worry about. We all met on Friday in Pocatello. I don't know how we did it but we shopped from about 10:00 in the morning to 9:00 at night. These bags are only the half of them. We all save money here and there throughout the year to take on this trip. I always look so forward to it. We didn't do so well getting pictures of us all together this year, but the memories are still fresh in my mind.

Kera opted out of the jewelry and finished a plant stand for herself. She couldn't help staying out of the sun as well.

Misty and her list. We are always organized and on track with Misty around. She makes a list of everything we all need to get and do. We love her. Part of the girl's trip we also swapped recipes. I'm not so sure our husbands are happy about this but, who is cooking, right!

We had to let Logan in on the fun and the feel of a girl's trip. He is staying with my parents for the summer and milking 108 cows for a local farmer. He is quite the stud!

Every time we have a trip one of us gets our hair cut. That is until this year. We all got tired of poor haircuts, but that didn't stop Misty from having Mom highlight her hair with the cap. This has been a pretty consistent tradition for Misty. She is the only one daring enough. When my Mom went to wash it out, it was a little scary.
Can you say orange. It looked a lot better though once Misty fixed and styled it.

Here is my nephew Logan being quite the trooper. We talked him into letting his high light his hair. YIKES! We told him if he didn't like it we would just cut/shave his head he was okay with that. We failed to tell him I had forgotten my clippers and scissors. Thank goodness he's forgiving. I'm not sure he'll want to be involved in another Yost family girl's trip.

After hours and hours of making beaded watch bands and other jewelry. Misty had a tantrum. I think she had spent quite awhile making this piece and she was tying it off, an it busted all over the floor. This was not an act, this was truly a grown-up tantrum.
