Jazz!

Ryver and I traveled to Portia's dance recital in La Grande. It was a fun time and awesome to watch Portia do something she loves to do. Ever since she was way little she loved to dance and sing. We would find her in the tub looking at herself in the shiny knobs singing. We still find her dancing in front of the TV screen where she can see her reflection. If you listen closely she sings and carries on quite the conversation in the shower. Great job Portia, you did great!

This was Ryver and I waiting for the show to start. Ryver did pretty good the first hour but got a little antsy the second hour.

Annual Yost Girl's Trip

This year for our girl's trip we decided to go to Mom and Dad's house. It was wonderful to spend all weekend there without kids to chase and husbands to worry about. We all met on Friday in Pocatello. I don't know how we did it but we shopped from about 10:00 in the morning to 9:00 at night. These bags are only the half of them. We all save money here and there throughout the year to take on this trip. I always look so forward to it. We didn't do so well getting pictures of us all together this year, but the memories are still fresh in my mind.

Kera opted out of the jewelry and finished a plant stand for herself. She couldn't help staying out of the sun as well.

Misty and her list. We are always organized and on track with Misty around. She makes a list of everything we all need to get and do. We love her. Part of the girl's trip we also swapped recipes. I'm not so sure our husbands are happy about this but, who is cooking, right!

We had to let Logan in on the fun and the feel of a girl's trip. He is staying with my parents for the summer and milking 108 cows for a local farmer. He is quite the stud!

Every time we have a trip one of us gets our hair cut. That is until this year. We all got tired of poor haircuts, but that didn't stop Misty from having Mom highlight her hair with the cap. This has been a pretty consistent tradition for Misty. She is the only one daring enough. When my Mom went to wash it out, it was a little scary.
Can you say orange. It looked a lot better though once Misty fixed and styled it.

Here is my nephew Logan being quite the trooper. We talked him into letting his high light his hair. YIKES! We told him if he didn't like it we would just cut/shave his head he was okay with that. We failed to tell him I had forgotten my clippers and scissors. Thank goodness he's forgiving. I'm not sure he'll want to be involved in another Yost family girl's trip.

After hours and hours of making beaded watch bands and other jewelry. Misty had a tantrum. I think she had spent quite awhile making this piece and she was tying it off, an it busted all over the floor. This was not an act, this was truly a grown-up tantrum.

We celebrated Portia's birthday a week early. Her birthday is on June 7th but we had her for Memorial day so she got an early celebration. I can't believe she is 8 years old. I first met her when she was 2. How time flies by. She has grown up so much this year. She has enjoyed doing Jazz dancing at her Mom's house and just finished the 2nd grade-wow!

Grandma Kathy, Grandpa Scott, Jake, Kadence, and one of Jake's friends came down for the big celebration. Portia picked out a butterfly cake, which was one of the easiest ones I have done. We had dinner, cake and ice cream, and then the best part of all....presents. She got scriptures from Grandma Kathy, a CTR from Grandma Sherry and then 3 fish in a small aquarium and a sleeping bag from the family. It was a great weekend and can't wait to see how much she will grow up and change in a year.

Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Scott came to visit us during the long weekend. They also brought me my early Christmas present to myself....my very own DYSON ANIMAL. My sister-in-law got a great deal on one. Let me tell you I love and it was so grossed out the first time I used it as well. As you can tell the box was a huge hit at our house. Grandpa really got his work out pushing the kids around. He is a train engineer for Union Pacific but this was a little more physical than what he's used to I think! Thanks Grandpa, these are the kind of memories they remember.

Picnic with Portia

We had a couple day visit with Portia during Memorial Day weekend. So good to have her home and Ryver loved it and couldn't get enough of her for the short time she was here. The weekend started with Ryver having one of his rashes. This one was pretty bad, and included his eyes starting to swell up so Portia and I took him in and he had Strep throat or I guess Scarlet Fever. No he never had a fever or even acted like his throat hurt. He tested positive with the swab and had the scarlatina rash. He started on antibiotics and got better. He's our crazy kid. We were planning on having a picnic with Aunt Dawn and the girl's but didn't think they would want the strep bug in their house so we had our own little picnic with redbox movies at home. Don't they look enthused! Actually they are both pretty easy to please. How come Scott and I have been so blessed with great kids? It makes me nervous for the next one, and no we aren't expecting.

Christmas in JUNE

Wow! Ryver and I got the best surprise today in the mail. Aunt Stacie and cousin Roc sent us not 1 but 3 boxes of clothes. Ryver is so totally set for clothes for about a year or so. The first thing I did was call Grandma Sherry to tell her not to get him clothes for his birthday (she's know for the being the clothes fairy). Ryver seriously sat on the floor in the middle of all these clothes and repeatedly say WOW, look at this. Of course Roc included tons of Car PJ's which Ryver thought he'd died and gone to heaven. We are so thankful for Stacie and her family giving so many great clothes. Love it! :) As you can see he was also lovin' his glove and goggles this day-gotta love him.

Ryver's many OCD's!

Ryver is my clean organized freak! One of his obsessions is to stay clean. He can't stand being dirty at all. Not even a drop of water on his shirt. We're working on it but it's a hard one for him. It really did make it easy to potty train though, that first poop and pee accident was one of his only. Another one of his obsessions is to line anything and everything up in a line. He will line all of his cars up and they all have to be facing the same way and the same distance apart. And don't you dare think about disrupting his flow or you will see the mad Ryver. He as started throwing a fit, and telling us he is mad and stomps into his room. Give him about 5 minutes and he's back out to realign his cars and what ever he finds. This day was anything and everything he could find. I was in the shower and came out to this across my living room floor. He is such a silly boy and I love him so much!
